RIP Holley Kitchen, the MBC Mom Who Reached Millions

We were so very sorry to learn Holley died today, January 12, 2016.  She was 43 years old.

“Our hearts are broken as we share the news that Holley peacefully passed away early this morning,” writes Holley Facebook page friend and administrator. “She was surrounded by love, as she has been in every moment of her life. . .Details regarding Holley’s services will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of those closest to Holley as they grieve and make all the necessary arrangements. Thank you for your unending support and love.”  ‪#‎Lifer‬

Now For The Rest Of The Story

I wrote an opening post, thinking I was ready to start this blogging journey back in September 2013. I guess I was wrong! And it has taken me until now in January 2015 to actually begin this journey. So I invite you to join me in this trip back down the Yellow Brick Road. (I’ll let you in on the secret laughs Lisa and I shared at the naming of this road, but that is for later.)

Also included in this Blog will be links to support services, including groups, books, financial, and more. I will be adding links to additional blogs for your use and links to current news stories about breast cancer research, trials, and new medications coming out.

I plan to post twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. This intro or restart or whatever you want to call it, is coming out on a Tuesday. That way tomorrow (Wednesday) will be the official launch of the regular Blog postings from me.

Life Changes So Fast

I lost my daughter, Lisa Marie Dickey Simpson, to metastatic breast cancer last February 10, 2013.  It feels like yesterday.  I am finally getting some counseling, I have the referral, and tomorrow I call for the appointment.  I just wish I could talk to her one more time…
